The role of participation coordinators was introduced to Slovak regional authorities within the framework of the national project Participation II – Supporting Partnership and Dialogue in Participatory Public Policymaking. The project was dedicated to capacity building for ensuring participation in state administration and regional government, promoting mutual learning and participation of NGOs in public policy making.
Participation Factory, in the role of expert guarantors, accompanied teams of participation coordinators in the systemic setting of the agenda. We helped identify priority agendas, design participatory public policy-making processes and optimize internal processes.
Over the past 18 months, through regular training, workshops and learning by doing on specific participatory processes, the coordinator teams of the five municipalities were able to independently and effectively set up and manage participatory projects across agendas.
