Young people represent an important part of our population and should have the right to participate in decision-making processes since decisions often affect their current and future well-being.
At Participation Factory, we consider youth participation to be crucial. After all, this was one of the reasons for establishing our company.
Our goal is to promote active citizenship and the principles of civil society among young people. We aim to involve children and youth directly in the dialogue about what is happening around them. We believe that children should learn how to express their opinions, speak out, participate, and be active citizens. In practice, we create informal education curriculums linked to real situations in the children’s environment. Our modules are tailored to all ages and use interactive elements and activities to develop soft skills and creative thinking.
The most widespread form of youth participation is participatory budgeting in schools, which promotes teamwork, communication and teaches students basic voting principles. Our team has extensive experience with participatory budgets in schools since their inception in the Czech Republic. Internationally, we have been involved in participatory budgets in several schools in the EU, USA, and Africa.
The current trend is increasingly turning towards a systematic approach to youth participation that allows for youth empowerment and the possibility of establishing partnerships and collaboration between youth and the local government itself.
We are helping to assemble and train teams of young enthusiasts who will become full-fledged partners of the town hall.
