Context

In the growing trend of renewable energy sources, wind farms play a key role. Anenská Studánka, where wind power plants already exist, has excellent conditions for further development in this area. To make the process of building new wind farms open and transparent, the investor NOHO Energy s.r.o. has decided to actively involve local residents in cooperation with Participation Factory because it is aware of the importance of dialogue with citizens and municipalities.

How we proceeded

During three planned meetings, citizens had the opportunity to get to know the investor and start communicating openly. The first meeting allowed residents to share opinions and experiences with the operation of existing power plants, express concerns about health, the environment and the local community. The second meeting followed the first, where the investor NOHO Energy presented their plan for the construction of wind power plants and discussed the possibilities of cooperation and benefits for the municipality already four model examples. Participants could express their opinions and preferences in an anonymous questionnaire. The third meeting immediately preceded the referendum, for which the municipality decided.

Results of Participation

The goal was to summarize the current information about the project and, above all, to motivate citizens to actively participate in the decision. The subsequent referendum convincingly approved the plan to build wind farms in the village.
